Hi everyone! This is just a quick blog post to let y’all know what’s been going on at Casa de Coers. We’ve had a busy few weeks preparing for the school year, watching our twins take their first steps, and a few other big changes for our family.
I’m heading into my second trimester with Baby Number Seven – and so far, so good. This has been my easiest pregnancy yet. I haven’t had any morning sickness or other adverse symptoms. Half the time I forget I’m pregnant. I was a little tired out while I was still breastfeeding our twins, but they’ve been weened at 13 months and I’m able to get a bit of rest.
Because I’m expecting another little one this February, we decided to send our three older children to public school. I’m just not able to provide a fun and stimulating educational experience for my high schoolers and middle school student while chasing after a two-year-old, and one-year-old twins, along with the demands of a newborn in the near future. The three Bigs were happy to head out into the big bad world, and we as parents are praying for their safety and success.
Our family has also recently changed churches. This was a very difficult and painful change for our family. We had been members at our old church for almost seven years. But as our family has grown and changed significantly in the past decade, we realized we needed to find a church that could better fit all our individual needs. No one church is perfect, but God has led us to a wonderful church in our community with the ability to minister to us in a variety of ways. We’re very excited about new opportunities to grow and serve.
New schools, new baby, new church – it’s been a whirlwind. But through it all, God has led our course and held us steady. It’s been interesting to walk through such new adventures with Him. I never would have thought we would be sending our children to public school or going to a new church. But we’re learning that there is no “one way” to handle every situation in our lives. We rely on the Lord to guide us through these changes.
Our blog here is growing by leaps and bounds. We’re close to 500 likes on Facebook! It’s an exciting time for our little online venture. We’re very thankful to God for His blessing and our hope is to glorify Him with this website and our lives.
Thank you all for reading and spending time with us! I can’t wait to share recipes and stories with y’all.
